Who is behind Snout Route
Hands-on pet transport experience, not a call-center handoff.
Howard Cloud is the owner and operator of Snout Route. He has worked in professional pet transportation since 2019, coordinating and completing long-distance moves throughout the United States and Canada.
That experience includes individual family relocations, breeder-to-owner deliveries, dogs traveling to trainers, and moves coordinated with relocation companies. The practical details behind Snout Route’s service — pickup planning, travel documents, care stops, communication, and delivery — come from doing this work in the real world.
Why we built it this way
Pets should not feel like freight.
Snout Route was created around a ground-only model because it allows direct responsibility for the pet throughout the trip. Instead of relay handoffs between unrelated drivers, one handler remains responsible from pickup to delivery.
Ground trips can take longer than flying, but they allow road-based care breaks, direct communication, and photo updates along the way. That trade-off is intentional.
Why we stay on the ground
We chose a ground-only model instead of airline cargo.
Air transport and ground transport involve different handling, timing, and travel environments. Snout Route focuses exclusively on door-to-door ground transport, with one dedicated handler responsible for the pet from pickup to delivery.
Ground trips generally take longer than flights, but they allow for road-based care breaks and direct trip updates. That trade-off is central to our service model.
