Dog transport options

Interstate, cross-country, and U.S.–Canada ground transport.

Every route is planned around the dog, the distance, required travel documents, and the pickup and delivery schedule.

Long-distance dog transport

For multi-state moves when driving your dog yourself is not practical. We plan rest, feeding, watering, and overnight needs around the trip.

Cross-country dog transport

Coast-to-coast and other extended routes with the same dedicated handler responsible for your dog throughout the journey.

State-to-state dog transport

Door-to-door ground service between states, with document requirements checked before pickup based on the route involved.

U.S.–Canada dog transport

Ground transportation across the U.S.–Canada border when the trip and current entry requirements can be satisfied. See our border requirements guide.

Private dog transportation

A direct ground-service model designed to avoid airport cargo, hub transfers, and relay-style handoffs between unrelated transporters.

Dogs with individual routines

Tell us about feeding, medication, mobility, anxiety, crate preferences, and other routine needs before booking so the trip can be planned appropriately.

Dog transport FAQ

Common questions about transporting a dog by ground.

How much does a dog transport service cost?

Pricing depends on distance, pickup and delivery locations, timing, the number and size of pets, route complexity, tolls, cross-border requirements, and any special care needs. See our pet transport pricing page or request a route-specific quote.

Can you transport my dog across the country?

Yes. Snout Route provides long-distance and cross-country dog transport by ground throughout the 48 contiguous states and Alaska, with Canada service available for qualifying cross-border trips.

Does my dog stay with the same handler?

Our standard service uses one dedicated handler responsible for your dog from pickup through delivery rather than relay handoffs between unrelated handlers.

Does my dog have to fly?

No. Snout Route is a ground-transport service. We do not arrange overseas or domestic air cargo transportation.

What should I send with my dog?

Bring your dog's regular food, medications and written instructions, a secure leash or harness, veterinary records, and any travel documents required for the route. Tell us about comfort items or crate preferences before pickup.
