What we do (and don't)

Do you ever fly pets?

No. Snout Route is a ground-only carrier — every trip travels by dedicated vehicle, door to door, with no cargo holds and no layovers.

Do you travel outside the U.S. and Canada?

No. We currently serve the United States and Canada exclusively, including cross-border trips between the two countries.

What kinds of pets do you transport?

Dogs and cats of all sizes and breeds. Have a different kind of pet? Reach out — we evaluate other animals on a case-by-case basis.

How long does a cross-country trip take?

Most coast-to-coast trips take 3–5 days depending on the route. Regional trips under 250 miles are usually done the same day.

Safety & care

How we look after your pet

Is my pet ever left alone?

No. A dedicated handler stays with your pet from pickup to delivery — they're never left alone in a vehicle or handed off to a stranger mid-route.

What if my pet gets anxious during travel?

Our handlers are trained in low-stress handling and build in extra breaks as needed. Tell us about any anxiety at booking so we can plan the route around it.

What if my pet needs medication?

Let us know at booking. Handlers can administer routine medication on schedule and log it with each check-in.

Are your vehicles climate-controlled?

Yes — every vehicle is temperature-monitored for the full length of the trip, in every season.

Booking & pricing

Getting started

How much does it cost?

Pricing is based on distance, pet size, and season, starting around $299 for local trips. See our Pricing page for the full breakdown.

How far in advance should I book?

We recommend booking at least 1–2 weeks ahead for cross-country or cross-border trips. Local trips can often be scheduled within 48 hours.

How do I track my pet during the trip?

You'll get a tracking link with live GPS location, a status timeline, and photo check-ins at every stop.

What's your cancellation policy?

Cancellations more than 72 hours before pickup are fully refundable. Inside 72 hours, a partial deposit is retained to cover handler scheduling.
